Welcome to Forston Learning!

Where movement meets the mind — and learning takes root.🌱

ree

Hello, and welcome! I’m Jessie Forston, a former classroom educator turned private educator and Certified NeuroDevelopmental Movement® Consultant. For over two decades, I’ve worked with children, parents, and educators to uncover the real roots of learning struggles — and to build the brain-body foundations that help every learner thrive.

My journey began in traditional classrooms, where I taught eager learners and struggling students side by side. I saw firsthand that some children worked twice as hard yet still felt like they were falling behind. Over time, I learned that for many of them, the challenge wasn’t a lack of effort or ability — it was that their nervous systems weren’t fully ready for the demands we were placing on them.

That realization changed everything.

I dove deep into the science of early movement patterns, sensory integration, and brain development. I trained in NeuroDevelopmental Movement®, opened my own practice, and began integrating these techniques with reading instruction and positive psychology. The results? Students who once dreaded school began to approach learning with confidence, focus, and joy.

My Mission

Through Forston Learning, I help:

  • Parents understand their child’s brain-body needs and support them with targeted, at-home movement

  • Educators integrate short, meaningful movement breaks into their day — without losing instructional time

  • Learners discover that they can regulate, focus, and make progress — one step at a time

I believe learning should never feel like climbing a mountain without steady ground to stand on. My work is all about building that steady ground.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog will be a place where we:

  • Explore the connection between movement, regulation, and learning

  • Share practical strategies for home and classroom

  • Talk openly about challenges — and the hope that comes with understanding the brain-body connection

  • Celebrate small wins, because they add up to big change

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or simply curious about how movement shapes the mind, you’re in the right place.

Let’s Stay Connected

If you want to go deeper, I invite you to:

We’re in this together — building strong foundations so every child can grow into a confident, capable learner.

Welcome to the journey!
